Warranties
Products sold on us.elettia.com may be covered by the manufacturer's written warranty and are covered by the implied warranties provided by the law of your state. Neither costs you anything, and a defective product is taken back at our expense.
1. Warranty information
Products sold on us.elettia.com may be covered by a written warranty from the manufacturer. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the terms of any written warranty are available for you to read before you buy: ask us for them at any time, and keep the documentation delivered with the product.
Independently of any written warranty, most states provide an implied warranty of merchantability: the product must be fit for the ordinary purposes for which such products are used. Where you told us a specific purpose and relied on our advice, an implied warranty of fitness for that purpose may also apply. The duration of implied warranties and the remedies available vary from state to state.
A product that is defective, does not match its description or arrives damaged can be returned to us at our expense for repair, replacement or refund, as described on the warranties page. Your order number is the only proof of purchase we need.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so limitations stated in a manufacturer's warranty may not apply to you. This warranty information gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
2. Implied warranties
Implied warranties under state law apply even when the manufacturer gives no written warranty, and cannot be disclaimed for consumer products sold with a written warranty or a service contract. A defect that existed at delivery but only became apparent later is covered for as long as your state provides; contact us as soon as you notice it.
Implied warranties are independent of the manufacturer's written warranty: you can rely on them even when no written warranty was given, and after the written warranty has expired, for as long as your state provides.
3. How to make a claim
- Write to [email protected] with your order number, the product concerned and a description of the defect. Attach a photograph or a short video if possible.
- We reply within five business days with a return address and a prepaid shipping label. Return shipping is on us for a covered defect.
- We repair or replace the product within thirty days of your request, at no cost and without significant inconvenience to you.
- If we can neither repair nor replace within that time, you can keep the product with a price reduction, or return it for a full refund.
No receipt or proof of purchase other than your order number will be asked of you: we keep your order history.
4. Manufacturer's written warranty
Many manufacturers give a written warranty, whose duration and scope are stated in the documentation delivered with the product. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, you can read its terms before you buy: ask us at [email protected] with the product reference. A written warranty never replaces your implied warranty rights: you can always contact us, including after the manufacturer's warranty has expired.
5. Spare parts
The period during which spare parts essential to the use of the product are available is communicated to us by the manufacturer. Ask us before your purchase: we pass on what the manufacturer told us, or the fact that it told us nothing — we never state a period nobody gave us.
The repairability of each product is also documented on the repairability page.
